Iowa PBS Presents New Season of Iowa Entrepreneur

Season 3 of IPTV’s Iowa Entrepreneur premieres Friday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. The 10 new episodes each feature two local Iowa businesses and the stories of how their owners overcame personal and professional struggles to find success. New episodes premiere Fridays at 6:30 p.m. and repeat Sundays at 10:30 a.m. on statewide IPTV.

Each half-hour episode tells the personal stories of entrepreneurs of all ages and backgrounds who have found success in a variety of industries. Viewers will meet extraordinary people, learn how they began their businesses, what their journey has been like and what defines success for them.

This series is produced by Iowa entrepreneurs Eric Braley and Michael Rueber, co-owners of the Cedar Falls production company, Around The Corner. The native Iowans cover businesses across the state in season 3, including Tres Mentes Salsa (Grimes), BeraTek Industries (Cedar Rapids), CrawDaddy Outdoors (Iowa City), RCS Millwork (Ankeny), Fire Farm (Waverly), Visual Logic (Waterloo), RMA Armament (Centerville), Mississippi River Distilling Company (LeClaire), Fresh Wheatgrass Girl (Carlisle), Interpower (Oskaloosa), Fareway (Boone), Innovative Lighting (Roland), Plastics Unlimited (Preston), AgriSync (Waukee), True Potential Education (West Des Moines), Shirk Photography (Wilton), FarmHer (Urbandale), Rodney’s Kitchen (Waterloo), GOMACO (Ida Grove) and Pear Deck (Iowa City).

"As someone that has started a business from nothing, I feel it's important to share the untold stories of the entrepreneurs we have right here in Iowa," said Braley. "To share what inspired them to start a business, and the challenges they faced.”

With more than 260,000 small businesses in Iowa, and thousands more starting up each year, Iowans are turning to entrepreneurship in record numbers to reach their dreams. Citizens are increasingly interested in pursuing and supporting local businesses.

"We're not only shedding light on these leaders across Iowa, we're opening up eyes to what it truly takes to be considered an entrepreneur. These folks are much more than just business owners," said Brad Wells, executive producer for Around The Corner. "To be able to tell 20 more stories of the innovators and the risk takers that are trying to impact their industry and community is extremely rewarding."
