Iowa PBS’s Rob Hilbert Achieves International Advanced Fundraising Degree

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), The Institute of Fundraising (IoF) and the European Fundraising Association partnered to develop a new advanced curriculum to be taught in Europe and North America. Rob Hilbert, Vice President at the Friends of IPTV Foundation, was invited to join the inaugural class, which included a number of leaders from AFP, IoF and PBS. Hilbert recently completed the AFP/IoF International Advanced Diploma in Fundraising Course, graduating “with distinction.”

The AFP/IoF International Advanced Diploma in Fundraising Course is designed to provide senior fundraising practitioners an international masters level qualification in fundraising. Students complete 600 hours of individual and group study over a full academic year. The course involves reading, writing, research and class time. Hilbert was among eight people from North America who successfully completed the initial class.
“Our IPTV Foundation staff is committed to continuous learning and to providing the highest level of service to our members,” said Susan Moritz, President of Friends of IPTV Foundation. “We have taken full advantage of the new knowledge Rob gained in his studies. For example, he developed data sets around our organization’s performance that make strategic decisions much clearer.”

Hilbert began working for IPTV in 2002, when he achieved his fundraising certification (CFRE).   He has been active and held leadership roles in AFP, LEAVE A LEGACY Iowa and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. Rob currently serves on the Development Advisory Committee for PBS.
