There was a bit of a hidden bonus last month if you managed to make some of your holiday related purchases early. —--

The Consumer Price Index was flat in November as inflation held steady for the first time since March.

The core rate did increase 0.2 percent when volatile factors like food and energy were removed from the equation.

In the big box store aisle, prices were a touch higher as retail sales bumped up 0.2 percent.

The low prices may not last as the Federal Reserve is expected to raise interest rates next week. ---
