Iowa PBS is seeking a Fall 2021 intern looking to expand their community engagement management and experience. This intern will gain experience in all aspects of event management, including engaging viewers at in-person or virtual screening, discussion events for local or national productions, and promotion of those events and other general outreach. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with a diverse group of people and be open to the ideas of others. Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong appreciation for customer service. Strong attention to detail and organizational skill. The ability to work with a highly skilled team as well as independently and the ability to perform under tight deadlines. Projects may include in-person or virtual screening, discussion events for local or national productions, and other general outreach.

Requirements:

  • Two years of undergraduate study in corporate communications, public relations, marketing or related field
  • Event coordination and good research skills
  • Experience and knowledge of communications fundamentals and principles
  • Familiar with basic design principles and creating promotions that fit within a multi-media campaign including on-air, print and online

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants for positions in this class must be currently enrolled students in a degree program at an accredited educational institution, as determined by the Iowa Department of Administrative Services – Human Resources Enterprise.
