Alma’s Way is a new PBS KIDS animated series from Fred Rogers Productions, created by actor and writer Sonia Manzano—who positively impacted the lives of generations as “Maria” on Sesame Street. The engaging modern-day series follows 6-year-old Alma Rivera, a proud, confident Puerto Rican girl who lives in the Bronx with her family among a diverse group of close-knit friends and community members. Alma’s Way celebrates and explores the thinking process—Alma’s “way” is to think things through! As she shares her observations and feelings and works through challenges, she speaks directly to young viewers, offering them a window into her everyday life.

Alma’s Way premieres on statewide Iowa PBS on October 4 at 7:30 a.m. with two back-to-back episodes. The series will air on Iowa PBS’s primary channel weekdays at 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on Iowa PBS KIDS .2 weekdays at 5 p.m. and weekends at 6 p.m.

Want to create your own fiesta at home? Abby Brown invited Adriel, Yahelis and Kamala to her house to learn all about fiestas and Puerto Rican celebratory traditions!

Join Carmen, Andy, and Leo as they hit the road with Luna and visit five new global destinations, learning about the art, food and culture that make the locales and the people who live there special. Catch these new episodes on Iowa PBS on November 15-19 or stream anytime on the PBS KIDS Video App!
