Aronia Berries | Iowa Ingredient

Apr 5, 2016  | 00:27:43  | Ep 506

To say the aronia berry struggles with popularity is an understatement. Even with a name change from the "chokeberry," its high antioxidant level, and even its versatility in cooking and baking, the aronia berry has never broken into the mainstream consciousness as a go-to food. But some are trying to change that. On this Iowa Ingredient, join host Charity Nebbe to learn more about this native berry. Then chef Kevin Scharpf from Brazen Open Kitchen in Dubuque will stop by the studio kitchen to show what’s possible when cooking with aronia berries.
