Iowa’s Transfer of Power

Iowa PBS will provide coverage of Gov. Terry E. Branstad's resignation and swearing-in as Ambassador to China on Wednesday, May 24, taking place in the Governor's formal office at the Iowa State Capitol. Iowa PBS will then broadcast the first address of Iowa's new Governor, Kim Reynolds, LIVE from the rotunda of the Statehouse. The broadcast will also include an extended, one-on-one interview with Governor Reynolds by David Yepsen, host of Iowa PBS’s Iowa Press.

Iowa’s Transfer of Power is scheduled to take place Wednesday, May 24 at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on Iowa PBS WORLD (.3). The ceremony will also be live streamed at Yepsen will anchor the broadcast with news analysis provided by Radio Iowa News Director Kay Henderson and The Des Moines Register's Political Columnist Kathie Obradovich. 

Iowa’s Transfer of Power will also air on Iowa PBS’s primary channel (.1) Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.

The new primetime schedule for Wednesday, May 24 is as follows:
6:30 p.m. Iowa Outdoors: Wind Turbines, Marsh Paddling & Iowa Trail App (NEW!)
7 p.m. Iowa’s Transfer of Power
8:30 p.m. Iowa Outdoors: Wind Turbines, Marsh Paddling & Iowa Trail App

The previously scheduled Nature: The Gathering Swarms can be seen at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 28 on Iowa PBS WORLD (.3) and NOVA: Meteor Strike will be rebroadcast Thursday, May 25 at 6 p.m. on Iowa PBS WORLD (.3).
