Albert "Sparky" Duroe started at sweeping the sidewalks of his first bank. He eventually moved up to become president of Farmers State Bank in Jesup, Iowa, before retiring and turning the business over to his children. Duroe was running the bank during the lead up, in the height of and after the 1980s farm crisis. Duroe talks about how the conversations went with farmers and what commonalities there were among those that survived the times. Sparky talks about community banking, collecting Oliver tractors and showing sheep all around the country.
