At the top of Iowa PBS's home page, select "Schedule" to view the schedule. We strive to provide up to three weeks of programming schedules on our website — one week back, and two weeks ahead. Navigate to the date you saw the show, find it in the grid, click/tap on the show title, then select “More Details” to find the upcoming schedule for the selected program for the next two weeks.

You are hearing audio description, a narrated audio track that describes key visual elements in the program to make visual media accessible to people who are blind or visually-impaired.

Sometimes this second audio track is used to provide the program in a foreign language. Not all programs have audio description, and just like closed captions, it can be turned on/off.

Since television sets have different remote controls and menus, turning audio description on/off varies depending on your TV make and model. Usually the feature can be found in your TV's Settings menu, under Accessibility or possibly the Audio menu on older sets. Some TV models have a dedicated button on the remote control. You may need to check your device's manual.

$3.5 million annual appropriation - the largest, one-time cut of public money to Iowa PBS in our 55-year history. It represents 18% of our local operating costs and will result in staff reductions, program reductions and service reductions over time. However, we will continue to tell Iowans' stories! We are committed to finding ways to minimize the impact to Iowans, both in the programs you see on your screens and in the educational services we provide.

We will continue to advocate for public funding at both the state and federal levels because we believe our mission to educate, inform, enrich, and inspire Iowans is an essential service. Recent polling in Iowa conducted by YouGov told us that 84% of Iowans strongly appreciate the local and regional stories we produce. Iowans believe our coverage is essential for the state. We will also seek additional private funding through corporate underwriting that supports our national and local productions, and through donations from viewers like you.
