Iowa PBS presents the 2024 IGHSAU Girls State Basketball Championships

Three high school girls battle over the basketball

Don’t miss any of the girls state basketball action! As Iowa girls battle to get their tickets punched to the state tournament, Iowa PBS is preparing for live coverage of the championship games.

The statewide network’s commitment to girls high school sports coverage continues as teams from across the state take to the court for the IGHSAU Girls State Basketball Championships. Coverage of each class title game will take place Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Each match will be broadcast live on statewide Iowa PBS and livestreamed on Facebook, YouTube and iowapbs.org.

The unparalleled coverage of the championships will include Paul Yeager as the nightly host covering the Iowa PBS Sports Pregame Show and all the halftime pageantry. Calling the 1A and 2A games will be Brad Wells and former Pocahontas standout, Elle Ruffridge. B.J. Schaben and Laura Leonard team up to call the 3A, 4A and 5A championship matchups.

8 p.m. | Class 3A 

Saturday, March 2 

2 p.m. | Iowa PBS Sports Pregame Show

2:30 p.m. | Class 4A

4:45 p.m. | Class 2A

7 p.m. | Class 1A
