Iowa PBS presents the 2025 IHSAA Football Championships

The wait is over! For the first time, Iowa PBS is your home for the 2025 IHSAA Football Championships. We’ll be bringing you every second of championship action!

Coverage of each class’ title game will take place Thursday, November 20 starting at 9:30 a.m. and Friday, November 21 starting at 10 a.m. Championship games will be played at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. Each game will be broadcast on statewide Iowa PBS and livestreamed on iowapbs.org and YouTube.

The unparalleled championship coverage will include Paul Yeager hosting the Iowa PBS Sports Pregame and halftime, with in-depth features, highlights and events including the Honor Cheer Squad performing during Friday’s 2A and 3A halftimes and the induction of the 2025 Hall of Fame class during the 5A halftime. 

The lineup of announcers calling the games is listed below. 

  • Eight-Player: Trevor Maeder on play-by-play and Tom Petersen on color commentary.
  • Class A: Shawn Kenney on play-by-play and Jeremiah Longnecker on color commentary.
  • Class 1A and 4A: Shawn Kenney on play-by-play and Kevin Bowman on color commentary.
  • Class 2A and 3A: Shawn Kenney on play-by-play and Pat Angerer on color commentary.
  • Class 5A: Shawn Kenney on play-by-play and Kevin Miller on color commentary.
     

Live coverage will be as follows*:

Thursday, November 20

  • Eight-Player — 9:30 a.m.
  • Class A — 1 p.m.
  • Class 1A — 4 p.m.
  • Class 4A — 7 p.m.

Friday, November 21

  • Class 2A — 10 a.m.
  • Class 3A — 1 p.m.
  • Class 5A — 7 p.m.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers free membership to all high schools in Iowa that are recognized by the Department of Education.
