The new year will bring more of your favorite programs to our weekday broadcast schedules. Beginning Thursday, January 1, our schedule following PBS KIDS programming will include weekday episodes of Rick Steves’ Europe and Antiques Roadshow! PBS News Hour will be broadcast at 6 p.m. The new lineup, beginning at 3:30 p.m., is as follows:

  • 3:30 p.m.—Arthur
  • 4:00 p.m.—Wild Kratts
  • 4:30 p.m.—Rick Steves’ Europe
  • 5:00 p.m.—Antiques Roadshow
  • 6:00 p.m.—PBS News Hour

In addition, Road Trip Iowa and Iowa Life will move to Mondays at 9 and 9:30 p.m. Road Trip Iowa will repeat Saturdays at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Iowa Life will repeat Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

This is the first change to Iowa PBS’s late afternoon/early evening weekday line-up in more than two decades. On-demand viewing, streaming trends and broadcast ratings all contributed to the decision for the moves.

In addition to these changes, PBS News Hour has announced they will cease production of PBS News Weekend after January 11. As soon as the new programs are announced we will add that information here.
