VIP Watch Party featuring Great Performances: Fiddler: A Miracle of Miracles

Join Iowa PBS virtually on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. for a VIP Watch Party featuring Great Performances: Fiddler: Miracle of Miracles. This program is the first in-depth documentary that chronicles the story of the international Broadway blockbuster Fiddler on the Roof – exploring the unexpected richness of its themes as well as its deep reach across time and cultures. Fiddler on the Roof is the story of all immigrants and refugees trying to escape persecution in their homeland, of the Jewish immigrant coming to America, of the fraying of tradition, generational tension and the loss of roots. Sharing their stories and insights into the show’s timeless impact are Fiddler’s composer and lyricist Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick as well as famous fans including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Joel Grey, Topol, Harvey Fierstein and cast members from the hit 2015 Broadway revival. Following the program, CEO and President of Des Moines Performing Arts Jeff Chelesvig will join the virtual event to discuss the musical.
