Day 3: Iowa State Fair Photo Gallery
Lots of popular contests on the first Saturday of the Fair, from our live coverage of the fair queen coronation to the Mr. Legs and Mullet contests. The Livestock Pavilion was bustling with the Governor's Charity Steer Show and the Parade of Champions, both to appear on our nightly show next week. While it was a rainy morning the late afternoon and evening brought sunshine and smiles.

An ice cream in each hand is a common sighting at the fairgrounds.

The Parade of Champions showcased the talent and hard work of many FFA students.

This year's Mullet Contest (formerly the Pigtail, Ponytail, Braid, Mullet and Mohawk Contest) were welcomed on the MidAmerican Stage by an enthusiastic crowd.

Lego displays were sprinkled around a room at the Cultural Center, where a day-long mosaic Lego wall build occurred.

An Elwell Family Food Center volunteer counted the 48 submissions for the first ever Scotcheroo Snackdown.
