♪ [applause] [Viquez] I am Dr Luís Viquez and I'm very happy and proud to serve as the 25 conductor of the Iowa All-State Orchestra.

I would say the greatest surprise that I got to see is how well prepared the students are for this concert.

And this is thanks to the diligent work of the music educators.

And I couldn't thank enough the music teachers here in the great state of Iowa, not only for their dedication, but if they if they really were not to love what they do, this concert would not be able to happen.

♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪♪ [applause] [Viquez] Capriccio Italien is one of the most exciting compositions from the orchestral literature, It is an absolute challenge, and I can tell you that the level that the Iowa All-State Orchestra is having is very close to a professional orchestra, because this is repertoire that only very, very fine orchestras are able to put together because of the intricacy, the virtuosity and the great technical challenges.

And it's just it's a composition that will be a true delight for the audience.

Nicole Lamartine, I teach at Central Washington University, where I am the director of choirs, and I am here to conduct the Iowa All-State choir.

This is a piece by Haydn.

So it was written, you know, just under 200 years ago.

And it speaks to what we experience today.

It talks about how the, there are these, crazy thoughts in our brains, and they're chattering along all the time, and we can't get rid of them.

But if we just stop to be calm and look outward from ourselves, we can find the peace that we are seeking.
