Mental health, food insecurity and agriculture economy on the next Iowa Press Special: Coronavirus

On the next Iowa Press Special: Coronavirus, a panel of experts will participate in a live discussion of the pandemic’s impact on mental health, food insecurity and the agriculture economy, answering viewer questions submitted via email, phone and social media. 

This live, one-hour special program will be broadcast Friday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. and repeat Sunday, April 26 at 11:30 a.m. on Iowa PBS. Iowa Press Special: Coronavirus will be livestreamed on iowapbs.org, YouTube and Facebook.

The panel will include Michelle Book, president and CEO of the Food Bank of Iowa; Bruce Buchanan, president and CEO of Compass Clinical Associates; and Chad Hart, associate professor of economics at Iowa State University. Joining moderator David Yepsen at the Iowa Press table will be Kay Henderson, news director for Radio Iowa. 

During this expanded Iowa Press, viewers may submit questions online, via email and over the phone for reporters to share with the panel. Viewers experiencing their own adverse medical symptoms will be encouraged to call 2-1-1 or reach out to their individual medical providers.
