MaryLand on Masterpiece | Debuts Sunday, May 5 at 8 p.m.

MaryLand follows two estranged sisters who reunite to unearth the truth about their mother’s sudden death and her double life on the Isle of Man. This is not so much a murder mystery as a compelling tale of two siblings opening up to each other as they work out a string of family secrets. The Guardian (UK) hails MaryLand as “joyful and incredibly affecting.”

Suranne Jones (Gentleman JackVigil) co-created MaryLand with writer Anne Marie O’Connor. Jones and Eve Best (House of the Dragon) play convincing siblings Becca and Rosaline, with Stockard Channing (The West Wing) as their mother’s enigmatic best friend, Maureen. The cast also includes George Costigan (Happy Valley), Hugh Quarshie (Silent Witness) and Dean Lennox Kelly (Shameless), among others.

My Life is Murder | Debuts May 11 at 10 p.m.

Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, Parks and Recreation) stars in this contemporary Australian detective drama as retired cop Alexa Crowe. With her old boss regularly asking for her insight on cold cases and a young police data-analyst eager to be mentored--whether Alexa wants to or not--Alexa can't seem to stop solving crime.
