The last day of the Iowa State Fair in 2023 was just as fun as the first, with a mohawk (and more) contest, bunny yoga, demolition derby, and plenty of ways to beat the heat indoors!

Day 10 at the Iowa State Fair was a scorcher, but that didn't stop fairgoers from enjoying the Hawkeye Marching Band, horseshoes, the Sale of Champions and more!

The first Iowa State Fair was held in 1854, and in the nearly 170 years since, there have been many different ways of entertaining fairgoers. Let’s take a dive into the history of entertainment at the Fair.

It was Park and Rec Day at the Iowa State Fair, with fun contests and lots of adorable moments in between.

One-time contests like cow chip throwing were on Wednesday's schedule alongside daily delights like the Red Trouser Show.

The Iowa State Fair continues with an agricultural focus with shows like the 4H swine judging, food fun with displays in the Elwell Family Food Center and thrills with the truck and tractor pull.

The only Monday of the Iowa State Fair was filled with sweet music, a parade honoring the armed forces, plenty of art on display and more. 

The Des Moines Breakerz breakdancing company lit up the MidAmerican Energy Stage in front of a big crowd.

The first Sunday of the Iowa State Fair brought milder weather but plenty of heat with monster arm wrestling, plus the Great Iowan Recipe food contest, mini horse yoga and more.
