Evaluate the evidence for the role of group behavior on individual and species' chances to survive and reproduce

Driving Question

  • Why do animals repeat unique/odd behaviors over and over?
  • How might gender play a role in this odd animal behavior?

Probing Questions

Students could:

  • Investigate other "odd" behaviors that have been observed in animals.
  • Think about why we consider these behaviors odd.
  • Determine the frequency/rate that the bird runs into the window. Have students look for any type of pattern.
  • Brainstorm ways to deter or redirect the bird from this behavior.
