Dr. Rebecca Phillips:
High school students are

at a really special place.

They are discovering
so many new things.

Learning so much

about their instruments,
about music, about life.

And when they learn something
new and that light bulb comes on,

It's incredible
to be able to witness that

and to see them say,
oh, that's how that goes.

And I just love that.

That is the best
part about teaching is seeing

and seeing the students
be successful.

Dr.  Jeffery Ames:
This is the first,

program for the All-State
choir of all black composers.

So I'm really, really,
really happy

that they have embraced
this music and not embracing

that from a sense of, of,

appreciation,

Or, yea, isn't that nice?

But from a sense,
a deep sense of gratitude

and, and knowing that,
you know it,

you know, it takes all people
to make the world go round and,

for them to sing this music
and bring dignity and homage to

black composers is amazing.

Dr. Kayoko Dan:  This piece
has multiple movements,

and every movement is based on
the paintings by Viktor Hartmann.

And every movement
is very different.

So it allows the student
different students

to shine in every movement,

which is very special
because we get to feature

a euphonium player

or the trumpet player
or a horn player, harpist.

It just has a beautiful way
of displaying the talent

of the orchestra.
