Living History Farms
11121 Hickman Rd., Urbandale, IA

Join Iowa PBS and Living History Farms on September 17 for an evening celebrating the spirit of community and civic service—then and now. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., explore Living History Farms’ brand-new exhibit, stop by The Advocate Print Shop for a demonstration of letterpress printing of the Declaration of Independence, and enjoy a slice of all-American pie in the Kemin Cultivation Center. Then at 7:15 p.m., the program continues with a preview from The American Revolution, a new documentary series directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt. The night will wrap up with a lively discussion on how the Revolution’s ideals of service and participation still shape our communities today. Panelists include Adam Lounsbury, executive director with Volunteer Iowa and Daniel Jones, program director of education at Living History Farms. RSVP for free to join us.
