Jane Austen 250th Birthday Tea

Join us for a delightful afternoon of tea, conversation, drama and literary charm as we honor the 250th birthday of one of the world's most beloved authors, Jane Austen! Whether you are a devoted "Janeite" or simply enjoy a fine cup of tea, you are cordially invited to step back into the world of the Regency era.

Indulge in Afternoon High Tea with a selection of teas, scones, tea sandwiches and mini pastries provided by tea party caterer extraordinaire, Clouds, while sharing your favorite Austen moments with fellow admirers.  Allison Peterson with The Jane Austen Society of North America Iowa Region will present "Why Jane Austen?" as we learn more about this author who has made our hearts flutter for more than two centuries.

Then we'll honor the beloved author with a screening of Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightley. Don your empire-waist gown or just your finest hat for an afternoon of fun. Prizes will be awarded for the best Austen-inspired costume and Best Hat.
