The 2017 Iowa State Fair parade features more than 140 different floats, animals, vehicles and performing units. Leroy & Pat Perkins of Wayne County serve as this year’s parade marshals. The Iowa State Fair Parade is the state's largest parade and sets the stage for the Iowa State Fair each year. Iowa PBS’s live coverage marks first time the Iowa State Fair Parade was broadcast statewide in 15 years!

The LIVE coverage of the parade kicks off Iowa PBS’s Fair 2017 coverage. Extensive coverage of the Iowa State Fair will air nightly August 14-19 at 9 and 10:30 p.m. Bill Riley will return as host of this year’s coverage, which is full of feature contest results, unique stories, food, animals, music and more. Iowa PBS will also broadcast coverage of the finals of the State Fair Talent Championship on Sunday, August 20, at 8 p.m.
